Power Partners – you have the power…

September 17, 2018 by Collin West Leave a Comment

So, I was going through my mail today and look what I saw...

Just a few members of Dallas Letip working together as Power Partners

Laura Voigt is the realtor in our group, and Jim Rokus is the Mortgage professional.  They know the power of networking and how to make it work.

For those of you new to the concept of business networking, Power partners are those people in businesses that naturally complement your own.  In the example above, Realtors and Mortgage banking.

There are dozens of natural pairings like this in the business world.  You may have a few other companies that you work closely with on a weekly basis.  The real strength of networking is when you find groupings that intermingle with categories that you might not think of.  for example, you might not connect Telecommunications with Printing.  But, when a new business moves into a new office space, they need phones installed, and new business cards printed with their new address.

Take a few minutes and browse through our member roster to see if there are any power partners that you would like to network with.  (MemberRoster) .  then make plans to visit the group.

If you are already a member, go ahead and look through the roster, and try to locate the power partners that we are missing.
post the missing categories in the comments below, so we can try to fill those voids with new members.  So we can put more dollars in your pockets.

Is Bottled Water Better Than Tap Water?

January 23, 2018 by Collin West Leave a Comment

In a simple answer, Maybe?!

The age-old question of "which is better, bottled water or tap water?" seems to have disappeared based on the assumption that bottled water is simply better. You may be surprised to find out that this may not be true. City water is closely regulated by the EPA and undergoes daily testing to make make sure that it is safe to drink. Recent news stories and mishaps with testing procedures has certainly faltered everyone's confidence in the system. However, that doesn't automatically make bottled water the obvious choice. Bottled water is regulated by the FDA and not the EPA. All of our strict regulations and EPA information on toxins no longer applies. The bottled water industry is on a whole different playing field.

Since bottled water doesn’t fall under the guidelines of the EPA, what exactly does it have to do to meet FDA approval? Bottled water doesn’t need to meet the high standards that city tap water must meet in terms of water treatment, contamination, and other testing.

On the federal level, it is not mandated that bottled water be any safer than tap water – chemical pollution standards are nearly identical

Depending on the contaminant being tested for, the FDA requires water treatment testing for contaminants only once a week, once a year, or once every four years. The EPA requires testing several times a day for contaminants.

Various studies performed by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) prove that the testing performed by the FDA is in dire need of improvement. One of the extensive studies, which has been considered “groundbreaking”, shows the following results:

  • 9 out of 10 of the best selling bottled water brands either don’t disclose information about the source of the water, contamination testing, or if and how it is purified
  • Out of the 173 bottled water brands surveyed, over 50% flunked EWG’s transparency test
  • 18% of the bottled water tested failed to make known the location of their water source
  • 32% disclosed no information regarding the treatment or purity of the water

Remember also that water that bottled has been adjusted or processed in order to be stored for extended periods of time. At one point it was probably excellent water but, by the time it hits the shelves, it is a product for profit, not health.

The best way to know exactly what you are putting in your body is to be in control. Using a water filtration system that offers NSF (Nation Saftey Foundation) regulated toxin removal levels in your home gives you control over what you are consuming. Remeber, if you're not filtering your water, your body becomes the filter.

Water filtration and purification can be tough to navigate. eWater can help you find what's best for you and your family.

Live Data Streams – Dashboard Displays

November 28, 2017 by Collin West Leave a Comment

If you drive a car, you probably occasionally glance down to check your speed, or fuel gauge.  This real time data provided by your car dashboard helps you make quick decisions so you can make it to your destination and back.

Managing a business is much like driving a car.  Keeping it running like a finely oiled machine requires constant feed back about the environment and the variables that keep you profitable.  Here are some ways Advanced Data Systems can provide a custom dashboard to show you the live data you need every day.

Motivate your Workforce

Use real time sales data to set goals and highlight top producer

Our Technical staff is well versed in all manner of Query language, so we can query your Accounting/Sales management software to keep up to the minute numbers as they roll in. Even if your applications are on the Web or in the cloud, we can use APIs to poll the data sources and provide seamless integration.

Use Statistical data to keep other teams motivated

Just like in the movie "Monsters Inc." we can track all manner of data to provide the statistical data you need to motivate your workforce and keep them trying their best to stay on top.

One major advantage is that they become self motivated.

Provide "at a glance" management tools

In the example below you can see a wall of a recent client who has an array of critical management data available at a glance.
these screens show

  • Camera views of shop floors, or warehouse spaces
  • Gant charts that show multiple projects and their current status
  • Productivity graphs
  • Customer satisfaction charts
  • GPS data that shows the current locations of employees or trucks

No matter what your industry, or data environment, Advanced Data Systems can provide a solution that will meet your needs.

Get Started!

So, how do you get started.  First thing to do is schedule a Free 1 hr consultation with Advanced Data Systems.  In this initial session we will discuss your needs and take a quick stock in your existing software and data environment.

If you already have a source for computer hardware we will work with them to provide any improvements needed in your network or internet security.  If you don't have a "Computer Guy" , we have a very good network.
